Messages Found With the Carving Knife (Volume 1) Paperback – October 5, 2010

This book is not a "how to" book, but is about the creation of carving fruit and vegetable into art. This is my gift, along with the wisdom I have obtained through all my years of teaching. I offer to share my knowledge of the ancient art of fruit and vegetable carving which demonstrates, in fine detail, many aspects of Thai culture. Fruit and vegetable carving is an art form not widely recognized outside of Thailand. I have constructed this book with many photos as a representation of how even a harvested pineapple, seemingly dead, can morph into a mature graceful swan. The manifestation of new life resurrected from fallen or plucked fruits and vegetables is a skill that I have been fortunate enough to master. I have made this book as a testament of my passion in the art of fruit and vegetable carving. My purpose in this book is to spread knowledge of this art form and to share my experience and joy. Like my husband always said to me when I had a mental block, "finish your book then you can die" and here is my book (but I plan on living many more long years sharing this art). Read more
